My name is Rhonda Reeve.
I was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer in November 2015. I am 52 years old and thought I was menopausal – I definitely did not think I would have a cancer diagnosis!! I was referred to Dr. Oh from Texas Oncology at Texas Health Resources. This was a very scary time for me and my family. Everything seemed to move so quickly. I had surgery and then I blinked and I was taking chemo every week. My life was turned upside down. Texas Oncology and the chemo nurses were so good to me. They work hard so that the atmosphere is a positive one. One of the biggest blessings I received was a chemo bag. I was told that these were prepared by Team Holly for newly diagnosed ovarian cancer patients. It was incredible!! Everything you could possibly need while taking chemo was in this bag – it was so thoughtfully put together and I still use many of the items that were included in this bag. Since then, I have connected with Holly and have watched her turn her vision into providing these bags to as many patients as possible by forming a 501(c)(3) organization. I’m so proud that she has taken what happened to her and turned it into something that helps so many! I am following her lead and will be including a resource envelope in these bags so that all of the area resources for cancer patients, which are numerous, are at your fingertips!!
